Welcoming Ceremony in Udon Thani Rajabhat University

Sawadi kha everyone,, dikcancee Neti Kha
As a student of University of PGRI Madiun who joined in Seameo program especially in Sea Teacher batch 7th, I was really excited that I can join in this program besides I also curious with the education, culture, people, lifestyle and food in Udon Thani, Thailand.

I was lucky to be here to learn a lot about the culture in this huge University (UDRU). For the first formal meeting, the dean of education faculty in Udon Thani Rajabhat University, lecturers, students and also the teacher from the assigned school that already chosen for us were welcoming us warmly and friendly in the opening ceremony.

I couldn't wait to gain a lot of culture exchange in UDRU or in Udon Thani since UDRU was the most biggest university in Udon Thani. In the welcoming ceremony UDRU present the great students with attractive traditional dance which is entranced and drew my attention.

Here the small part of video of traditional dance in welcoming ceremony,, enjoy it!

The traditional dance actually is the story about the teenagers' love therefore male and female dancer.

Meet Up with Udon Pittayanukoon Teachers

After the welcoming ceremony, each one of us met the teachers from our assigned school which is the Udon Pittayanukoon school and asked anything about the institution. Three teachers from Udon Pittayanukoon; Kru Boem, Kru Tum and Kru  were very friendly and patient to answer our questions. I felt amazing when I know that the school was famous in Udon Thani province. I just imagined that I will get great experience in the school.

While lunch, the UDRU gave delicious also halal food,, they respect our condition that Moslem can't it pork :) Kopkhun kha,, the buddy always friendly and keep their smile upon us :) (It feels like my home).

After got delicious lunch, UDRU gave us lesson about Thailand's language. The teacher's name was Kru Chintana, she was very interesting teacher. She doesn't only use power point to teach us but also played the game and role play. I learned the simple vocabulary or expression, alphabet, and number. For example, when I meet someone I have to say sawadikha, put our hand together and smile because I'm women but for men should say sawadikrab. I still remember how to pronounce the number one until ten; neng, song, sam, si, ha, hok, jet, pet, gau and sip.

In the day of opening ceremony, at 3.30 p.m, the buddies took us to the third campus of UDRU. The location was not far just about 30 minutes from the main campus. In the third campus, I saw a lot of great building the library, the building for research, football stadium, and the dorm. This campus only provide science and engineering major. Unlucky, we could not stop in every building because the limit of the time and there were a lot of activities.

In the evening, I had activity to choose our buddy by using attractive games. They let us to take on ice cream stick which consist of the characteristic of my buddy and we should ask them one by one until they say "yes, it is us". Lucky me, I got the same buddy with my friend from my University Siti Resa. So, we can hangout together with our buddy. Our buddie's name are Orange and Victoria. They were very humble and friendly persons. We asked about each other information, learn Bahasa Indonesia Language and gave us Thailand's name. My Thailand's name was "Malik" and Resa as "Kau hom". The meaning of my name was Jasmine and Resa as the smell of rice :).
